An Aspirant is the lowest Star Command Fleet Non-Commissioned Officer rank, below a Petty Officer.
It is the rank given to anyone wishing to join the Fleet who has been through Basic Training but not been to Star Command Academy.
The rank insignia for an Aspirant is a single black seven pointed star worn on the cuffs, collars and epaulets.
