Well, today I'm having a sneaky look at one of the books I had in mind when I thought up the Birth of a Starship idea... Diane Carey's Star Trek: TNG Ship of the Line.... although, now i look at it that book is completely different to what i am attempting to do with BoaS.
The other major infleunce was the Star Trek Technical Manual, which has about three pages of construction history. In fact the storyline, the design and then production of the Pegasus Class ScSS Seraphic is closer to an episode of shows like American Chopper and shows like that.
That, combined with the story of a regular joe, in this case, Bhutan Jii, we get to see the introduction of a new character, the Seraphic... and i guess that is important, considering the series is named for the ship.
